Substantial Completion of PATH Tracks G & H Floodwall

01/26/2023 - Yonkers recently completed the PATH Tracks G and H Flood Wall project. Originally a Design-Bid-Build project, Yonkers ended up changing the design of the flood wall and the foundation. Located between Kearny, NJ and Harrison, NJ, the wall stretches 4,000 feet along the flood-prone Passaic River.

After Super Storm Sandy in 2012, serious weaknesses and vulnerability to infrastructure and property in the NY Metropolitan area were exposed. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) took proactive measures to harden and build resiliency into their train and electrical infrastructure with the letting of multiple design-bid-build projects.  The Tracks G and H Floodwall was one of four projects Yonkers was awarded as part of the PANYNJ Sandy Infrastructure Resiliency Projects involving PATH train facilities and electrical substations.
