The work includes mainline traffic shifts, deck demolition in phases, installation of steel grid deck and CIP concrete, new CIP barrier and a polymer overlay. Extensive steel repairs including stringer relief joints, vertical gusset plates, diaphragm replacement, truss diagonal strengthening, and girder strengthening are required. The work also includes installation of the electronic tolling structure and staged demolition and reconstruction of the existing toll plaza including electrical and drainage modifications. The project is currently on schedule to be completed 3 months early.
