08/30/2022 - Yonkers has recently completed steel strengthening and bridge deck replacement at the Newburgh Beacon Bridge North Span for the New York State Bridge Authority. This included a composite steel and concrete grid deck, concrete barrier with granite curb and various strengthening of the bridge members including diagonal truss, gusset plate and stringer splices.  The new All Electronic Toll Collection (AETC) system is fully operational.  Overhead sign structures have been installed.  The bridge deck polymer overlay is in progress and will be followed by signage and lane striping in the permanent configuration.  We are quickly approaching substantial completion.  The remaining work includes shifting traffic to its final position and restoring the median.
