Celebrating 80 Years of Excellence: Yonkers Contracting Company Marks a Major Milestone

10/15/25 - ​Yonkers Contracting Company proudly marked its 80th anniversary with a spirited celebration at Midland Avenue headquarters, bringing together nearly 400 employees, guests, and elected officials. The event honored the company’s enduring legacy of infrastructure innovation and its unwavering commitment to the Yonkers community.

Founded in 1945 by Edward Petrillo, and now helmed by his son, Chairman Carl Petrillo, Yonkers Contracting Company has evolved from a local road and bridge builder into a premier infrastructure firm serving the entire Tri-State area. Over eight decades, Yonkers Contracting Company has completed more than 1,350 projects— including highways, bridges, tunnels, and rail systems.

The celebration featured remarks from Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, and District Attorney Susan Cacace, who commended the company’s pivotal role in regional development and Carl Petrillo’s visionary leadership. Yonkers Contracting Company attributes its success to its dedicated employees, proudly recognizing them as its greatest asset.

From restoring vital transit links in the aftermath of 9/11 to spearheading major design-build initiatives like the Bronx River Parkway viaduct and the Brooklyn Bridge emergency deck replacement, Yonkers Contracting Company continues to shape the future of infrastructure while honoring its storied past.
