The Design-Build LaGuardia Airport East Parking Garage was part of the LaGuardia Redevelopment Program. The new garage structure, with a ground level and five elevated levels, provided 1,100 spaces meeting the Port Authority’s Central Terminal Design Standards while reducing the structure’s footprint. The project was on the site of an old surface parking lot opposite Terminal C. The design of the garage foundation layout and the pile spacing was predicated on maintaining airport utilities. The six-level parking garage is a precast structure of columns and double T-beams enclosed with aluminum metal panels to match the modernized Central Terminal.   

 

This project received the International Parking Institute Award of Merit.
